Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are an innovative injectable biorevitalisation treatment made of short nucleotide sequences. Simply put, it contains codes like sections of your own DNA that stimulate the body’s own cells to deeply hydrate, promote collagen production, firm and contour the skin.
They offer a number of benefits including improvement of skin microcirculation, detoxification and the deep hydration skin. This means reduced fine lines and wrinkles with improved firmness and tightening of the skin through collagen stimulation. We use polynucleotides as an alternative to tear trough filler and help to decrease lower eyelid puffiness, fine lines, wrinkles and volume loss. This treatment is safe on all skin types. This treatment can be done in combination with other treatments. At ORA, we love to take a pan-facial approach and often use polynucleotides to enhance not only the undereye area but also the full-face for a holistic and radiant result.
Results are visible after the first treatment but for optimal results, we recommend two- three treatments at three week intervals. Learn more.

Profhilo
Profhilo has grown in popularity in recent years as it helps to feed and nourish the skin as well as encouraging it to heal itself from within. Rather than applying creams and lotions which only reach so far, profhilo reaches deep into the dermis and delivers it’s hydration directly where it is most needed. It does not relax muscles like Botox nor does it produce extra volume within the skin, as dermal fillers do.
We use profhilo to create an airbrushed skin effect on patients of all ages. They are especially popular with patients over the age of 30, brides and those wanting to radiate a healthy glow. If you are not happy with your skin laxity, have crêpey or thin skin as well as other visible signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, you could be suitable for skin boosters.
Profhilo is the first BDDE-free (no cross-linking / viscosity building), stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable substance which helps to treat skin laxity. It offers one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market. HA is responsible for hydrated and youthful skin and is drastically depleted from the skin over time. The HA in profhilo will boost and hydrate the skin as well as remodel the ageing and sagging tissue which occurs during the natural ageing process.
Profhilo is not a dermal filler or bio-revitaliser, it is a bio-remodelling product, which is a new category in injectable moisturiser. Results are sometimes visible after the first treatment but for optimal results, we recommend two-three treatments at four week intervals. Learn more.
Redensity 1
As we age, skin becomes less plump, less radiant and less hydrated. Teoxane Redensity 1 is an exciting new concept in skin boosting that improves skin radiance, hydration and light reflection. For the discerning client who craves a treatment that gives a natural luminescence and glow to the skin with minimal downtime this is the treatment of choice. It’s the long lasting primer effect that has seen Redensity 1 become the best kept secret for those looking for unrivalled radiance and want to go make-up free more often.
It contains pure hyaluronic acid (HA) but has the added benefit of three antioxidants, eight amino acids, two minerals and a vitamin - it repairs the skin while hydrating it. Redensity 1 will prevent premature skin ageing, helping with thinning skin whilst giving a beautiful healthy glow. It has been shown to improve hydration by 69%, fine lines and wrinkles by 83% and radiance by 67%. Results are visible after the first treatment but for optimal results, we recommend three treatments at three week intervals.
Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are injected using a fine needle or a blunt needle into the undereye area and facial skin. There are generally two to three sessions performed in 2-3 week intervals. There is initial swelling which should not be confused for the result as this will settle as the watery gel is absorbed. As this treatment stimulates your own body, results are typically seen 60 days after the initial treatment.
Maintenance is one treatment every four to six months. There is little discomfort with the treatment but, as with all injections, there is the potential for swelling and bruising.
Polynucleotides avoid the major risks that are associated with dermal fillers. However, because it is a biostimulator (stimulates your cells) it means that results can vary more widely as the result is dependent on your body’s response.
For most, the natural, reduced-risk option is appealing but it does come with a commitment to a slightly longer treatment protocol.
Unfortunately not everyone will be a candidate for injectables. We do not recommend injectables for any pregnant or breastfeeding women. We cannot perform injectables where there is active infection at the injection site or systemically. We urge caution and recommend discussing your suitability in advance if you have any allergies, autoimmune or underlying medical conditions.
Please ensure that you are feeling fit & well on the day of your treatment. Treatment cannot be performed if you are feeling unwell or have had a recent illness including flu. Read our information leaflet here for full guidance.
As the polynucleotides are derived from Salmon gametes, we advise anyone with a fish allergy to avoid this treatment. Additionally, we would like to highlight this point for anyone who is vegan or vegetarian. We can chat about this further in clinic should you have any questions.
You may experience mild - moderate discomfort but generally this treatment is very well tolerated. We can also use topical numbing if required.
There is very little downtime with polynucleotides. We expect the treated areas to be a little puffy (swollen), slightly tender and showing mild redness. As with all injectables a bruise is also possible.
The majority of clients go back to work straight after treatment. However, it is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment. Vitamin C and Vitamin E can also increase the likelihood of bruising, but it is fine to use 48 hours after.
Immediately afterwards, it is important to avoid wearing make-up and strenuous exercise such as going to the gym, swimming or extreme sports and hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.
Results are seen within 60 days of the final treatment and we recommend two - three treatments spaced three weeks apart.
To maintain the result, we recommend one treatment every four months.

Profhilo
Profhilo works in a course of two or three treatments, four weeks apart. On the face, only five injection points are necessary on each side of the face to give maximum results.
Profhilo acts as a hydrator rather than a filler. It is injected just under the surface of the skin, where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissues to instantly boost hydration. Over the following four weeks, phase two will boost collagen and elastin production within the dermis. This helps to give the skin a youthful, plump, smooth and firm appearance.

As profhilo is injected just under the skin using very fine needles in predetermined points, it is relatively painless; you may feel a short sting or scratch, but this is short-lived. The procedure is very quick, taking only about 20 minutes.
There is no downtime with profhilo. You will have ten hive like bumps, five on either side of the face. These can last for up to 48 hours but most are gone within 12 hours. The majority of clients go back to work straight after treatment. However, it’s advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment.
